The Private Equity Europe Forum by Markets Group brought together leading private equity managers, institutional investors and family offices in London to discuss the future of capital allocation across European private markets.

For SIO, one message stood out clearly: the Transition Economy is becoming a mainstream investment theme. Areas we have focused on for years, including AI for digital infrastructure, energy security, food security and industrial transformation, are increasingly shaping institutional private market strategies and long-term portfolio construction.

The forum provided an excellent opportunity to exchange perspectives with fellow investors, explore emerging private market strategies and strengthen relationships across the international investment ecosystem.

SIO at SuperReturn Energy Transition 2026

SIO participated in SuperReturn Energy Transition 2026, one of Europe’s leading institutional private markets conferences dedicated to energy transition investing. Managing Partner Kostis Tselenis joined the LP panel Perspectives from the Capital Source: LPs’ Evolving Interpretations of Energy Transition, alongside the European Investment Fund, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, and other institutional allocators, discussing how LP expectations are reshaping fundraising, governance and portfolio construction in the sector.

Beyond the main stage, SIO also contributed to investor roundtables on real estate, water, and the energy–food nexus, reinforcing its value-chain approach to the transition economy, from storage and grid flexibility to resilient infrastructure and climate adaptation.

SIO at the Blue Economy & Finance Forum Monaco

Swiss Impact Office co-moderated the invitation-only Asset Owner Dialogue: Unlocking Capital for the Blue Economy, bringing together family offices, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments and institutional investors to explore how long-term capital can accelerate the blue economy.

Rather than a traditional panel, the session was designed as a working workshop focused on identifying allocation barriers, sharing successful investment structures and developing actionable pathways to scale institutional investment into sustainable seafood, marine conservation, maritime decarbonisation and ocean-based climate solutions. The outcomes will contribute to the Monaco Declaration on Scaling Blue Economy Investments, reflecting the collective priorities of participating asset owners.

The event brought together a diverse investor-linked audience and top specialists to discuss how #ImpactInvesting is moving from niche to core allocation, and how #Nature, #FoodSystems and real economy strategies can absorb more institutional #PrivateCapital.

Key takeaway: #ImpactInvesting is no longer a niche conversation. The question is now how to institutionalise it without diluting its purpose.

Reflections from the first panel moderated by Kostis A. Tselenis, Swiss Impact Office:

Nadina Stodiek, Schroders, reminded us that #ImpInv is already “established, accessible and profitable”. Next step: #scale, through strong partnerships with specialised players who can grow assets without compromising integrity.

Sinisa Vukic, Cardano, pointed to one of the key barriers: perceived #risk. Many strategies do not yet have 20+ years of track record, and many come from first-time managers. Clearer evidence, standardised reporting and peer examples matter, but #PensionFunds also need to be genuinely open to allocating.

Julia Balandina Jaquier, Tara FO / Swiss Platform for Impact Investing (SPII) brought the #FamilyOffice and #NextGen lens: ambition is high, but execution still depends on better governance, stronger advisers and more institutional-quality impact solutions.

Adelina Toader, Kapnest, moderated the 2nd panel, and highlighted that investor demand is growing, but regulatory complexity, limited investable pipelines and the lack of large-scale impact wealth management capacity are slowing development:

Mona Huys, Mercer, underlined that investing in nature and food systems is essential for resilience and ecosystem health, but also makes economic sense as private markets opportunities continue to emerge.

Florence Kiss, Lombard Odier Group, stressed the need to mobilise capital to transform global food value chains and regenerate nature as part of building a #NetZero, nature-positive economy with resilient long-term value.

Tom Kagerer, Vlinder, reminded us that after decades of #NaturalCapital depletion, the next decades must be defined by #restoration and #conservation, with proven solutions ready to scale.

Nabil Marc ABDUL-MASSIH, INOKS Capital S.A., brought the #PrivateDebt and agri-food value-chain perspective: financing #inefficiencies in EU #FoodSystems remain materially underserved, and debt can be a powerful instrument for real economy impact.

For SIO, the conclusion is clear: Nature finance, sustainable food and agri, and #NBS are #investable, understandable and increasingly institutional. The task now is to strengthen LP #governance alignment, improve execution capacity and mobilise more capital into strategies that can deliver both positive impact and returns.

SIO at the World Economic Forum 2026

During the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Swiss Impact Office contributed to a series of investor and family office dialogues focused on long-term capital allocation, regenerative finance and the transition economy. Beyond participating in the broader Davos ecosystem, SIO led discussions at the Climate Hub Davos by GreenUp, bringing together family offices, institutional investors and ecosystem leaders to explore nature finance, circular economy, sustainable food systems and cross-generational approaches to impact investing.

The week reinforced SIO’s role as a convener of high-level private market conversations where capital, innovation and collaboration intersect.

SIO was delighted to co-host our – full-house – Impact Gathering & Christmas Apero together with INOKS Capital S.A. last week in Zurich. The discussion focused on how alternativeinvestments, realassets and impact strategies are converging around sustainable food and agriculture, driven by foodsecurity, climate pressures and changing investor expectations.

Nicolas Laporte, mentioned that private debt is becoming a mainstream asset class, increasingly used as a proxy for fixed income in diversified portfolios. The universe of ESG and impact managers remains limited, requiring pragmatic allocation choices and selective arbitrage. Interest in ESG and impact strategies is steadily increasing, especially among younger private banking clients, where sustainability is becoming a baseline expectation.

Rosa Sangiorgio, mentioned that Switzerland faces a defining choice: to be remembered as the place that protected yesterday’s wealth, or as the place that helped design the financial system for tomorrow. Impact investing is not a niche; it is good risk management in a world where climate, health and social tensions are now priced.

Mirjam Garzon, stated that the impact investing community continues to grow fast each year, while methodological challenges around definitions and measurement remain. Sustainable food and agriculture stand out as one of the most important and widely supported themes across the global impact community.

Nabil Marc ABDUL-MASSIH, presented short-term, asset-backed food chain financing in developing economies, mentioning it usually carries lower risk than perceived when properly structured and monitored, while delivering tangible local impact including job creation and women empowerment. In Europe, a significant “missing middle” financing gap exists for agri-food SMEs, creating an attractive private debt opportunity. aligned with the EU’s food security agenda.

Yullie (Panagiota) Matsouka mentioned that impact investments increasingly deliver on investor expectations, often more consistently than traditional strategies. They are fundamentally real-economy investments and do not carry higher risk by default.

Kostis A. Tselenis highlighted clear macro trends: impact strategies are becoming a structural allocation in institutional portfolios, not a niche. Evergreen structures, particularly in private debt, are gaining momentum as investors seek income, resilience and real-asset exposure. The traditional narrative of impact versus returns is increasingly obsolete.
